TIL brokers can take weeks to process a simple transfer request

Overheard a guy at a diner in Cleveland say his money sat in limbo for 11 days because his broker forgot to click submit, so now I time every request I make.

Honestly that diner story is exactly the kind of thing that keeps me up at night. Ngl my buddy had a similar thing happen last year where his transfer got stuck for nine days and they kept saying it was a "system glitch." Turns out the broker just straight up forgot to hit the button and then lied about it when my friend called asking where his money was. Tbh I started taking screenshots of every confirmation email and even recording the time I submit requests now because these people act like our time is worthless. The whole system feels broken when a simple click takes over a week to process just because someone didnt do their job.

Taking screenshots and recording timestamps is smart but it shouldn't be necessary in the first place. The fact that brokers can just ghost you for nine days with no consequences is ridiculous. Your buddy's story about the broker forgetting to hit a button and then lying about it proves they know they're wrong but just don't care. The system is stacked against drivers because there's no penalty for brokers wasting our time. How long before someone starts filing small claims just to get their money?
