Watched a guy in Philly lay a whole course without touching his level once

He was just tapping bricks into place with his trowel handle and they were perfectly level, while I was constantly checking and adjusting. It clicked that I was over-relying on the tool instead of trusting my eye and feel for the material. How many of you actually work mostly by sight and touch like that?

Man, same thing happened to me on a patio job. Once I stopped checking every brick and just felt the tap, everything went way faster. You ever get that click moment too?

Oh totally, that click is real. I went from measuring every single cut with a speed square to just eyeballing it and trusting the saw. Suddenly a day's work got done before lunch. It's like your hands just learn the job better than your brain ever could.
