Vent: my monstera's aerial roots rotted because I listened to the misting crowd
I was misting my monstera twice a day for 3 weeks in my Houston apartment because every forum post said high humidity equals happy plant, and the aerial roots turned brown and mushy by day 20. I cut the misting cold and switched to a pebble tray instead, and 3 new roots popped out in 10 days. Anyone else think misting is way overhyped for monsteras, or did I just do it wrong?

Sounds like the mushy roots might've been from cold water sitting on them overnight more than the misting itself, since aerial roots can take some moisture if they dry out between. But yeah misting twice a day in Houston is kinda wild, your place is already muggy. Pebble tray was the right call.
