My cactus bloomed at 3 AM and scared my dog

Last week, my night-blooming cereus finally decided to open its flowers. I had been waiting for this for months! The thing is, it happened at like 3 in the morning. I woke up to my dog barking like crazy at this weird, glowing white flower in the dark living room. I had to turn on all the lights to show him it was just a plant. The whole event was over by sunrise, which felt kind of magical and also ridiculous. Has anyone else's plant had a dramatic midnight show?

That sounds like a made-up story for attention... plants don't just glow in the dark. Your dog probably saw a shadow.

My dog barks at houseplants too, @cooper.nora, so maybe we're both just bad at gardening.
