Spent 2 months reading a novel before I realized I was on chapter 5 of the wrong book

I grabbed a stack from the library sale and started this thriller. Got really into it but something felt off about the plot. Turns out the bookmark I found inside was from a completely different book. The thriller I was reading had a red cover and the book I thought I was reading was blue. I was 150 pages deep before my wife pointed out the titles didn't match. Has anyone else gotten lost like this with library sale books?

Wait, you went 150 pages before checking the title? That sounds more like a you problem than a library sale problem.

150 pages in and you didn't even glance at the cover once? That's wild to me. I get losing track of time but that's some serious tunnel vision. You must've been really into whatever was happening, or maybe the font was super small. Either way, I don't blame the library sale for that one. Sounds like you were just in the zone and forgot to look up. Happens to the best of us but 150 pages is next level.
