I thought wheat paste was just a messy old way to do things
A friend in Seattle insisted I try it for a rebind of a thick art book about six months ago. I mixed a small batch with some rye flour and gave it a go on the spine. It held better than my usual PVA on that heavy paper and stayed flexible. Has anyone else made the switch for specific projects?

Oh wow, I never thought about the paper type being a factor. That heavy art book paper probably soaks up PVA differently. Makes total sense that the wheat paste would work better there.

Yeah @lisa_brown, that's why my old art teacher called PVA glue "the devil's spit" on good paper, lol.
