I spent 4 hours trying to get the grain direction right on a batch of handmade paper for endpapers before I finally got it.

Has anyone else had a project where one simple step just ate up your whole afternoon?

That's the worst kind of time sink. It feels like you're so close, but one tiny detail just refuses to cooperate. I've definitely lost an afternoon to something that should have taken five minutes.

Used to think grammar nitpicking was a waste of time, patricia78. Then I spent a whole day on a bug that was just a semicolon. Now I get it.
