Warning: our book club split over a 12 page novella and it dragged on for 5 weeks
We picked a tiny little novella for our February meetup thinking it would be a quick, easy chat. Instead, two members got into a fight over whether the ending was hopeful or just plain sad, and it turned into a 5 week mess where nobody would drop it. I tried to steer us to the next book twice, but the group kept circling back to the same three pages. We finally voted last Tuesday and the split was 6 to 4, which basically killed the whole vibe. How do you all handle it when one small book tears your club apart?

Doesn't a 5 week fight over 3 pages mean your club actually cares about books?
