Vent: My book club said my questions were too easy, so now I lead with the hardest one first
We read Bel Canto for our Austin meetup and Dana said 'you always start with the easy stuff so we never get to the real fight,' so now I open with the meanest question and we get way more into it, but is that actually making us talk more or just argue faster?
Sounds like Dana just wants to fight about books, which is fine I guess. But calling your questions "too easy" is a weird flex for a book club that meets in Austin and reads the same bestseller everyone else is reading. Starting with the hardest question just means you front load the drama and then spend the rest of the night winding down, so yeah probably arguing faster, not more. If people actually have more to say at the end than the start, then something is off.
