The moderator in our group made us read the last chapter aloud, huge mistake

Our book club in Cleveland usually skips the final chapter and just argues about the ending, but last month the moderator forced us to read it out loud around the table. Turns out hearing the actual words changed everyone's take, and two people nearly stopped coming over it. Anybody else had a meeting where the format itself caused more drama than the book?

Reading aloud always starts fights, just cap it at two pages.
