Our book club in Austin had a huge fight over the ending of 'Project Hail Mary' last Thursday
It started when Sarah said the ending was a perfect, hopeful conclusion, but Mark called it a lazy cop-out that ruined the whole book. The debate got so heated that three people left the Zoom call early, and we had to stop after two hours with no agreement. Has your group ever had a book split people that badly, and how did you move past it?

Honestly, it's just a book. Maybe take a week off and talk about something less stressful next time.

Reminds me of a friend who got so mad about a movie's ending he threw his popcorn at the TV. He was fuming for days, calling it a personal insult... all over a film he chose to watch. Sometimes we just need to step back, like @the_john said. My buddy finally laughed about it weeks later, admitting he wasted a good snack and a solid week of mood over something that didn't matter.
