My book club's "controversial" pick turned out to be 400 pages of nothing
Last month someone in my Tampa group insisted we read a self-published sci-fi epic because the author was her cousin, and we all slogged through it only to find out the 'big twist' was just a typo on page 312. Has anyone else had a member push a book purely out of family loyalty and regretted it?

Did that cousin show up to defend the book, or did she skip the meeting entirely?
