Hot take: I was wrong to hate on people who skip the book club pick
I used to get annoyed at the two women in my Omaha club who never finished the monthly pick. Then last month I pushed through 300 pages of a novel I hated just to save face, and realized I was wasting my own time to prove a point. They were reading what they liked and still showing up with good stuff to say. So what's the real rule here, do you finish every club book no matter what, or is bailing early actually the smarter move?
