Tried a cooperative board game with my group and it backfired hard

I brought The Crew to my game night last Friday thinking everyone would love the teamwork angle. But three of my friends started arguing about the best way to play a hand and it killed the mood for an hour. We didn't even finish the first mission because someone stormed off to grab a snack. I learned that cooperative games can bring out the worst in people who are too competitive. Has anyone else had a co-op game turn into a fight instead of fun?

Man that's rough lol. Last time I tried a co-op game my buddy spent 20 minutes yelling at me for "not optimizing my turn" while I was just trying to figure out which way the rule book said to move the little wooden token.

Oh man that is a bummer and I feel your pain. The Crew is supposed to be this chill team game but it turns into a math problem for some people real quick. I have had a similar thing happen with a game called Mysterium where one guy just took over the whole night and told everyone what clues meant. It really makes you wonder why some folks can't just let people play the game at their own pace without turning it into a group project gone wrong.
