Pro tip: paid $140 for a lens cleaning kit that made my shots blurrier

Last month I bought a $140 "pro" lens cleaning kit from a camera shop in Denver because my shots kept coming out soft. The guy told me to use the wet wipes on the front glass every time I went out. After 3 weeks my photos got way worse and I could see smears in bright light. Turns out the wipes left a film and I was rubbing dust around instead of blowing it off first. Now I just use a $9 rocket blower and a microfiber cloth. Has anyone else wrecked a lens with one of those kits?
