My dad's one blurry photo tip from 1993 still sticks with me
I was at a Cracker Barrel in Tennessee last month and saw this guy trying to take a photo of his kids with a phone. He kept getting mad because they were moving. It reminded me of when my dad taught me to lean against something solid before pressing the shutter, like a wall or a tree. He told me 'just brace yourself and hold your breath for a second' and it honestly cut my blurry shots by like half. Has anyone else gotten a random tip from a family member that actually works?

Met a buddy of mine who was complaining about how all his vacation photos looked shaky. I remembered that old tip my dad gave me and passed it along, telling him to plant his feet wide and lock his elbows against his ribs like a tripod. He texted me a month later from some beach saying it actually worked and his wife stopped making fun of his photos. Funny how the simplest stuff sticks with you even when technology gets all fancy.

You ever try bracing your camera hand with your other hand's fingers? I do that cup under the lens thing and it's like a cheap stabilizer. @victorclark hit it right with the elbows against the ribs too, that locks your arms up solid. Lean into a doorframe or a post if you're inside, makes a world of difference even with a phone.
