I quit shooting on full auto hoping for one sharp frame, and a guy at the Sacramento zoo pointed out why that's dumb
I used to hold the shutter down for like 8 frames every time my kid ran at the park, thinking I'd get lucky and one would land sharp. Last month at the Sacramento zoo a guy next to me watched me rip through a burst at the flamingos and asked if I ever checked how many of those were actually in focus. I went home and looked, and out of 60 shots maybe 3 were usable, the rest were mush. Now I take one frame at a time, half press, breathe, and shoot, and my keep rate went way up. Anyone else shoot single frames on purpose for moving stuff, or am I just making it harder than it has to be?
