Debate: should you fix a blurry photo or just reshoot it?

My camera died halfway through my sister's wedding last Saturday and I got one shaky shot of the cake cutting that's all blurry. I spent 2 hours trying to sharpen it in free software but it still looks smeared, while my buddy says just recreate the moment at the reception. Is it better to salvage a bad memory or accept the loss and move on?
