Found an old farriers rasp at an estate sale for $5
Picked it up last Saturday near Dayton and after cleaning off the rust realized it still had good bite, way better than the cheap ones from the big box stores. Anyone else ever luck into old tools that just work better than new stuff?

Ngl, old rasps really hold their edge way better.

Gotta love how "old" means "pre-2010" in tool years, right? I swear my grandpa's rasp from the 50s could probably outlast all my power tools combined. Modern ones feel like they're made of hopes and dreams compared to the stuff they used to crank out. It's like companies forgot how to heat treat metal somewhere along the way. Maybe we should all just start digging through antique shops instead of buying new.
