Heard someone say birth moms are 'just egg donors' at a family dinner
My cousin's new wife said birth moms are basically egg donors and I nearly lost it at the table. She has no idea what it's like to carry a baby for 9 months and then hand them over. Has anyone else dealt with people reducing this to just biology?

Is this really worth getting that worked up over? I mean yeah it's a crude way to put it but she's technically not wrong about the biology part. The whole "carrying a baby for 9 months" thing is rough but in the end the birth mom made a choice to give the kid up, right? People get way too emotional about word choices these days. Maybe just let it slide and change the subject instead of letting it ruin your whole dinner.

@Sethp26 you ever actually talk to a birth mom about it? I know three women who placed kids for adoption and every single one of them would tell you it's not just "a choice" like picking a grocery store aisle. You carry that kid for months, you feel them move, you go through labor, and then you hand them off. That's not the same as donating an egg in a clinic. So yeah, it's worth getting worked over when someone acts like the only thing that matters is the technical biology part.
