PSA: I totally flipped on skipping 'The Good Place' after my friend kept telling me to try it

My friend had to nag me for a solid year before I gave in and watched the first episode. I thought it was just another silly sitcom with puns about the afterlife. Then the first season twist hit and I basically didn't leave my couch for a week. The show is a masterclass in making you feel smart for keeping up, then blowing your mind anyway. I owe that friend an apology for all my eye rolling, and maybe a fruit basket.

That first season twist actually changed how I watch TV now. I started noticing all the tiny background details they planted early on, like the mailbox numbers adding up to 804. It makes the rewatch almost better than the first time.

Why is it so hard to trust friends when they recommend stuff? @anthonyc66, your story about the show is a classic case of that. Tbh, I've done the same thing with movies and ended up loving them.
