My buddy hated on *Station Eleven* so hard I gave it another shot
I dropped that show after two episodes last year, thought it was too slow and artsy. Then my friend Dave told me I was missing the point because the whole thing is about how people cope through art after trauma, not about the disaster itself. Anyone else have a show they dismissed and then someone's take made you totally flip on it?

...and then Dave probably told you that the bird flu was just the backdrop, like the whole point is the guy who keeps saying "I don't want to live the wrong life and die"? That's what got me. I rewatched it and suddenly the slow parts felt like the whole point, not a problem. Your mileage may vary, but sometimes a friend just giving you the right lens to look through makes all the difference.

Took me three watches before I stopped trying to speed it up and just let it breathe. Once I quit fighting the pacing it clicked hard.
