Switched from spray lube to drip wax after a chain explosion in traffic

I used to drown my chain in wet lube every few weeks, but after a chain snapped on me during a commute through downtown Seattle last spring, I gave drip wax a shot. The drivetrain stays way cleaner now, but I'm still figuring out how often to reapply it. What do you all use for topping up between full wax melts?

Read somewhere that drip wax works best as a light top-up every 200 to 300 miles, and that matches what I've seen so far. The trick is wiping the chain down first so old wax doesn't build up into gunk. I usually just apply it before a long ride and let it dry overnight, then wipe the excess off the next morning.
