Just realized my old barber scissors are still sharper than my new ones
I picked up a fresh pair from a supplier in Chicago about 4 months back, paid 180 for them. But after a week of thinning work they started pulling hair, so I dug out my dad's old shears from the 80s, the ones he used on the corner of 5th and Main. They still cut clean as ever after a quick oil and adjust... took me a Saturday to re-learn the weight distribution though. Anyone else find that older tools just hold an edge better, or am I the only one keeping 30 year old steel in rotation?
