Tbh, my entire balcony crop got wiped out last week from a single aphid hitchhiker

I brought home a new basil plant from the garden center on Tuesday, and by Friday morning, every single one of my peppers and tomatoes was covered in a sticky mess. Honestly, I didn't even see the bugs on the new plant until it was way too late. What's your go-to method for checking new plants before they come up to your space?

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. How long do you keep new plants in quarantine now?

Man, that "single aphid hitchhiker" line hits too close to home lol. My go-to method is a full quarantine and a very awkward, close-up stare down. I'll put the new plant on a separate table and just... look at it. I check under every leaf, stare at the soil, feel like a total weirdo. I've definitely missed stuff and brought in spider mites before, so my method is clearly foolproof.
