My $25 self-watering pot turned my basil from sad to happy in a week

I bought one of those plastic self-watering pots from the garden center downtown after my basil kept wilting while I was at work. It holds a reservoir underneath that the plant drinks from, and it cost about twenty five bucks. I filled it up on Monday and came back Friday to the greenest leaves I've seen all summer. Has anyone else tried these for herbs, or do you have a better trick for keeping things alive in the heat?

My rosemary was doing the same thing last month. Those pots are a total game changer for herbs that get thirsty fast.

Did you get the same brand as kim.stella or a different one?

Oh man, I got the same cheap plastic one from the grocery store... the kind that cracks if you look at it wrong. My rosemary looked great for a week, then the pot basically fell apart during a watering. So now I'm the proud owner of a fancy new pot and a very dead plant.
