My sourdough starter completely died after the power outage

It was my 3-year-old rye starter, and the fridge was off for almost 8 hours. Has anyone successfully revived one after that long?

Actually, eight hours in a warm fridge probably didn't kill it. That's not that long. The real test is if it smells like nail polish remover or just went totally flat. Try feeding a tiny bit, like a teaspoon, with equal parts flour and water and see if it bubbles after a day.
