Burnt my third batch of croissants before realizing my oven runs 25 degrees hot...

I finally bought an oven thermometer last week after months of frustration, and it turns out my brand new range is off by 25 degrees. Has anyone else found a secret offset in their oven that took forever to catch?

My oven runs 30 degrees hot and I didn't catch it until I'd ruined a whole batch of sugar cookies. Just keep a sticky note on the front to remember the offset, it's simple but saved me.

Sticky notes are a lifesaver... I keep one on my microwave too because the popcorn button always burns everything. That little reminder makes such a difference when you're in a rush and forget the fix.
