TIL I was feeding my chickens wrong for two whole years
I always just tossed their layer feed on the ground in the run, thinking it was fine. Then my friend from the feed store in Springfield pointed out how much I was wasting and how it could draw pests. She showed me her setup with a simple hanging feeder, and I realized I'd probably thrown away a 50 pound bag's worth over time. I switched to one last month and the feed lasts twice as long now. Has anyone else made a simple change that saved a ton of money or feed?

Yeah, I read somewhere that scattering feed is like an open buffet for mice and rats. Makes you wonder what other little things we're all doing wrong, right?

My neighbor's compost pile is basically a rodent city.
