My nesting box roof collapsed on me yesterday

I built a new A-frame coop last month and thought I nailed the roof. Woke up to find the whole thing caved in after that rain we got, crushed two of my best eggs. Anyone have tips for reinforcing a slanted roof without making it too heavy?

nah hard disagree with @paige_harris on doubling up rafters, that's overkill for a small coop. 2x4s add way more weight than you think especially once the wood gets wet. stick with 2x2s but add a center brace underneath the ridge, keeps it light and stops the sagging issue.

Double up your rafters. Used 2x4s instead of 2x2s and it's way more solid without being crazy heavy.
