A lead tech told me my wire routing looked like a 'spaghetti monster's nest'
He was right, I was just bundling everything together for speed on a Cessna 172's autopilot install. Now I spend the extra 20 minutes per run using proper clamps and loom, and it's way cleaner for the next guy. How much extra time do you all budget for 'future tech' accessibility on a job?

My buddy had a boss who called his panel work "a rat's nest behind a painting." He was just trying to finish a G1000 retrofit. That extra ten minutes per wire group with the right sleeves and ties saved him a huge headache six months later when they had to trace a faulty ground.

That "spaghetti monster" comment hits home. My old foreman would just shake his head and say we were building a career-long puzzle for the next shift. I add at least fifteen minutes per bundle now just for labeling and leaving service loops. It's not about the boss watching, it's about the guy who gets the midnight call because my "quick" job is now a three-hour trace.
