I watched a guy at the shop try to force a bearing with a hammer for 20 minutes straight
He was working on a Ford F-150 axle and kept hitting it harder, getting more frustrated each time. I finally walked over and showed him the proper press tool, and it slid right in with almost no effort. How many times have you seen someone waste hours on a job because they skipped the right tool?

Remember when people said the right tool was just for speed? This is why that's wrong, it's for not wrecking your parts.

Just watched a guy try to hammer a bearing onto a spindle last week. He mushroomed the end of the spindle so bad it needed a whole new axle shaft. How do you not stop and think after the first few hits?
