My old boss in Dayton saw me using a grinder on a panel and just shook his head.
He walked over and showed me how I was holding it wrong, putting too much heat into the metal. I'd been doing it that way for about two years, always wondering why my filler work took so long. He said, 'You're fighting the tool, not working with it.' Has anyone else had a basic technique they were doing backwards for way too long?

Two years? Man, that's a long time to fight a grinder. I can feel the arm ache just thinking about it. All that extra heat warping the metal must have been a nightmare. It's crazy how one wrong grip can cost you so much time and effort.

Actually @riley55, that heat helps shape the metal right sometimes.

Oh man, I feel that (and @riley_king16 has a point, but still). I once drilled holes backwards for a whole month.
