I chose to fix a quarter panel instead of replacing it on a '92 Civic

Everyone at the shop said a full replacement was the only way, but the owner wanted to keep the original metal. I spent about 12 hours carefully pulling dents and using filler, which felt like a waste of time to my coworkers. The car left looking great and the customer was thrilled I listened. Has anyone else gone against the grain on a repair method and had it work out?

Honestly, I would have said replace it too. But seeing a job done right and a happy customer proves the point. Good on you for sticking with it.

Ha, thanks. I was fully ready to be the person who gave up and just bought a new one. Honestly felt kind of stubborn about it, like I was fighting a losing battle. But that moment when it finally clicked into place was so stupidly satisfying. Makes you feel like you outsmarted a piece of plastic.
