TIL you can actually see the ISS pass over with just your eyes if you know when to look

I've been driving nights for years and always figured you needed a telescope to see anything cool up there. Last Tuesday I was parked at a rest stop outside Flagstaff around 2am, just staring up while I waited on a delivery window. Saw this bright light moving steady across the sky, no blinking like a plane. Pulled out my phone and checked some tracking app I'd never used before and yep, it was the ISS. Kinda blew my mind that something with people on it was that visible just from the ground. Anybody else catch it by accident before?

Pull up that tracking app next time you're grilling, @beth_butler75, just don't burn the burgers staring at the sky. I almost backed my truck into a ditch once because I got too distracted tracking it from the cab. Pretty wild how something so small and fast turns into a real "woah" moment when you catch it by chance.

Man, I totally get that. I used to think all that space stuff was just for people with expensive telescopes or NASA connections. But then I was out in the backyard last summer, just grilling burgers, and I looked up and saw this crazy bright dot moving fast. No blinking, no sound, just gliding. I almost dropped my spatula. Now I check that tracking app all the time, it's kind of addictive.
