Galaxy pics are now our go-to for family quiet time

I started putting up astronomy photos as screensavers on the living room TV. Now instead of arguing over shows, my kids and I just sit and point out cool stuff in the images. It's become our thing after dinner, just chilling and looking at space. Makes me happy to see them get excited about something real, not just cartoons, lol.

That idea of them getting excited about "something real" really hits home. We do something similar with nature documentaries on mute and just talk about what we see. It's cool how just a screensaver can turn into a proper family moment, isn't it? What's been the favorite picture so far?

Watched my friend Cass put on one of those fireplace videos last Christmas when her whole family was stressed and arguing. They all just kinda stopped talking and stared at the fake flames for like twenty minutes, not saying a word. Honestly it was the most peaceful part of their whole holiday, just sitting together in the quiet glow. Tbh it made me realize we don't need fancy plans, just a simple thing to focus on together.
