Chat with a guy at a star party made me rethink my telescope
I was at a local star party last Saturday and this older dude let me look through his 6 inch dob. He said he had it for 15 years and never felt the need to upgrade. It hit me that I've been obsessing over specs and gear when I should just be enjoying the views. Any of you ever get humbled by a simple setup like that?

Totally agree. I remember borrowing my neighbor's 4.5 inch reflector once and saw the Cassini division in Saturn's rings clearer than through my own 8 inch SCT. He just had it perfectly collimated and let it cool for hours. Made me realize it's not just about the size or brand. How long do you usually let your scope cool down before you start observing?
