White kitchen cabinets look terrible in actual use

I painted mine white last year. They show every mark and are a pain to clean. Why do designers still love this trend?

Wait, you clean yours? Mine look permanently smudged... I just gave up. It’s wild to me that designers act like it’s a fresh, clean look forever. In real life, it’s just a mess you see all the time. I don’t get the hype when it’s so much work for something that never actually looks clean.

My aunt went with dark green cabinets for this exact reason! She said fingerprints and water spots just blend right in. It's been two years and her kitchen still looks put together without constant wiping. Maybe the real move is picking colors that hide real life messes instead of showing them off. Designers should spend a week in a house with kids and a dog before picking finishes.
