Visited the Cahokia Mounds last month and noticed something about the layout

The way the central plaza aligns with the summer solstice sunrise is way more obvious on the ground than in any book I've read. Has anyone else seen a site where the astronomical feature just clicks into place like that?

My buddy went to Stonehenge and said he finally got it when the guide pointed out the heel stone, kind of like what @raymartin said about Cahokia. He said it just made sense in a way reading never did.

Ever been to Chaco Canyon? I mean, you really have to stand in Pueblo Bonito's doorway at dawn to get it. Photos and diagrams just don't do it justice, they make it look like a guess. When you're actually there and the light hits that exact spot, it feels less like science and more like a message. That click you felt is the whole reason to visit these places, idk.

Actually, that's the winter solstice sunrise.
