Can we talk about the Roman sandal nails sticking out of that Scottish field
I was at the Trimontium site near Melrose last month and a guide pointed out a single corroded hobnail from a legionary's sandal, just sitting in the dirt like it fell yesterday, and I couldn't stop thinking about how one tiny piece of iron tells you someone walked that exact spot 2,000 years ago, has anyone else found something that small but that loud?

Honestly I used to think old relics were boring until I held one. That nail changes everything.
