Dropped $600 on a new hydraulic chainsaw bar and it paid off in one storm cleanup
Had that big windstorm hit us last month here in Portland. Old bar was warped from that oak removal back in March, kept throwing the chain every 15 minutes. Bought a Sugihara bar from a local shop, $610 out the door. Ran it through four days straight of downed maples and firs without a single adjustment. Anyone else notice how much smoother a fresh bar cuts through wet wood?

Well I'll be. That sounds like a good investment. I caught a review from a logger over in the Midwest who said the same thing about Sugihara bars, how they hold up better than the factory ones on wet wood. The oiling holes on those are supposedly bigger so the chain stays lubed longer. Good on you for getting four days out of it without fiddling with the tension.
