Can we talk about how tricky washing machine door boots are to replace?
I was working on a Samsung washer at a customer house in Phoenix last Tuesday and getting that old rubber boot off felt like a wrestling match. Anyone else have a go-to trick for making those clamps cooperate?

Oh boy, you are not alone on that one. That Samsung boot had me sweating on a job last month in the middle of summer, no AC in the garage. What finally worked for me was getting a second set of hands to pull the rubber away while I worked the clamp tool, and I used a little dish soap on the lip to help it slide back on. Those spring clamps are just plain ornery, and I swear they design them to fight you until your fingers go numb.

Did you try offering the clamp a little bribe before you started working on it lol? @grant.margaret I swear those Samsung boots are like they’re personally offended you’re touching their washer. That dish soap trick is solid though, I’ve used cooking spray in a pinch and it works way better than you’d think. Still, whoever decided spring clamps should be stronger than a handshake from the Hulk needs to apologize to all of us.
