Just realized I was paying for a parking spot I never got

Last month I moved into a place in Columbus and the lease said a garage spot came with the unit. Three weeks in I noticed my key fob only opened the main door, not the garage gate, and the manager kept saying maintenance would fix it. I finally read the lease line by line and found the spot was listed as 'optional' in a tiny rider I skimmed at signing. I had paid $75 a month extra for nothing, so I got it removed and put that cash toward a storage unit instead. Has anyone else had a landlord sneak a charge into the fine print like that?

...which is almost worse than not having the spot at all, cause I spent a whole weekend convinced I was too dumb to work a gate remote. Turns out the only thing I was too dumb for was reading past page two of a lease, and that's coming from a guy who once paid for a gym membership for six months after switching to a gym that was three blocks closer. I feel your pain on the sneaky rider, Columbus landlords must print those things in invisible ink or something. At least you caught it before you paid for a whole year of nothing, that's a win even if it stings a bit.
