Just realized I was handing over bank statements for zero reason
Had my third rental application rejected this week in Columbus, so I finally asked the landlord why. Turns out every place I applied to had income requirements I could meet, but I was volunteering way too much personal info like full bank statements and tax returns. One property manager literally told me, 'we just need pay stubs and a credit check, not your life story.' I've been overcomplicating this for the past 2 years and probably looked like a huge risk by oversharing. Anyone else been doing way too much paperwork when a simple pay stub did the job?
