Shoutout to the Crunchyroll sub update that quietly turned my backlog into a guessing game
Heads up for anyone who hasn't opened the app in a while. Somewhere around early June the subtitle track on my older shows started loading late, like a full second behind the audio, and I thought my TV was dying. Turned out the default text size and timing settings got reset on my profile when I switched devices, and it stayed that way for about 3 weeks before I noticed it was on every show, not just the one. Now I check the subtitle settings before I hit play on anything new, which sounds dumb but it saved me from blaming my soundbar again. Did the timing reset happen to anyone else, or was it just my account?

Honestly switching devices resetting your profile is normal app behavior, not some secret Crunchyroll bug.
