Had a perfect week of film developing then ruined 3 rolls with a single temperature spike
My water bath jumped 10 degrees while I was in the other room and now I've got 36 frames of weird color shift, has anyone else lost a whole batch to one mistake?

...and that's why I switched to a sous vide setup last year. I got tired of babysitting water baths. @dylan265 is right, some developers are way more sensitive than others. I had a batch of C-41 go bad on me once because my bathroom radiator kicked on and cooked the tank. The whole roll came out looking like someone ran it through a washing machine with bleach. Now I just put the sous vide in a bucket of water and walk away. No more guessing, no more ruined rolls. It's not fancy but it works.

Oh MAN that hurts to even read! What developer were you using that went wonky with the temp shift? I've had similar luck with certain chems being way more picky than others.
