Switched from stand developing to manual inversion. Huge regret.

Been doing Rodinal stand for a year. Got lazy. Tried manual inversion with HC-110 last week. 6 rolls of Tri-X at 400. Came out all streaky and uneven. Should have stuck with what worked. Now I'm out 6 rolls of vacation photos. Anyone else have a development method change backfire?

HC-110 hates you if you don't agitate at exactly the right intervals, doesn't it.

The agitation thing gets exaggerated though, HC-110 is actually one of the more forgiving developers with stand or semi-stand methods. A gentle swirl every 30 seconds during the first few minutes then just leaving it alone works fine for most negatives. Really it's temperature swings that mess with it more than agitation timing ever does.
