That beach in Oregon made me rethink the ending of The Perfect Storm

I drove down to Cannon Beach last month and stood watching the waves crash for about 20 minutes. It hit me that the movie should have ended with the crew's boat washing up on shore, empty, no bodies, just the radio still crackling. That would have left the loss feeling more real and less Hollywood, like the sea kept its secrets. Anyone else ever visit a filming location and wish the ending matched the place's actual mood?

Yeah, "the sea kept its secrets" huh? More like the sea kept its box office receipts. They'd have had to build a whole other set for that ghost boat, and you know Clooney's agent would've demanded a floating corpse cameo. I get what you're saying though, I did the same thing at that lighthouse in Point Reyes after watching The Fog. Spent an hour waiting for a creepy mist to roll in and all I got was a parking ticket and a sunburn. Nature just doesn't care about your narrative arcs, man.
