Warning: The change in how we run wire for glass break sensors

For years, I'd run the wire straight up the wall and across the header. After a job in Tempe last month, I saw a guy run it inside the window frame's jamb channel first. The before-and-after difference in concealment is huge, and it only adds about 15 minutes per window. Has anyone else switched to this method for a cleaner look?

Been doing it that way for a couple years now. The old method always left a visible wire running up the drywall. Tucking it into the jamb channel hides it completely. It's a small change that makes the finished job look way more professional. Totally worth the extra few minutes.

That hidden wire trick can cause real problems down the line. Saw a job where the wire got pinched in the jamb and shorted out the whole circuit. Now you have to tear out trim to fix it. The visible wire along the drywall is easier to trace and repair. Sometimes the old way is just more reliable.
