Had a keypad go completely dead on a new install yesterday

It was a DSC Neo panel, and the thing just wouldn't power up after I wired it. I swapped it with a spare from my truck and the system came right up. Ever have a brand new component just be DOA like that?

We had a batch of those DSC keypads a few years back where the ribbon cable inside wasn't seated right from the factory. It would look perfect but have no connection. Makes you wonder what the quality control check actually is. I always keep a spare for exactly this reason, it saves a second trip.
